WATCH FOR NEW PICTURES TO BE POSTED SOON! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SAND LAKE WINTERFEST held at SAND LAKE, MI FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10th - Pine wood derby race at the VFW Hall in Sand Lake at 6:30 pm registration at 5:00 pm ** NOTE CHANGE IN DATE & TIME ** RULES: 1. The car weight shall not exceed 5.0 ounces. The UMS race scale shall be considered final. 2. The overall length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches. 3. The overall width of the car shall not exceed 2 3/4 inches. 4. The car must have 1 3/4 inch clearance between the wheels. 5. The car must have 3/8 inch clearance underneath the body. 6. The wood provided in the kit may be used or any other wood from another kit may be used as long as it meets the above specifications. The block may be shaped in any way that is desired. 7. Any BSA wheel or pine car wheel may be used. You may remove the seam from the wheels. 8. Any BSA or pine car axle may be used. Burrs may be removed off axles and polished. 9. Only dry powered lubricants, such as graphite may be used. Regular oils and silicone sprays may soften the plastic wheels. 10. Wheel bearings, washer or bushings are prohibited. 11. The car must not ride on any type of springs. 12. The car must be freewheeling, with no starting devices. 13. No loose material of any kind, such as lead shot, may be used. Weight may be added to the car to achieve the 5.0 ounces.
